Sizes Available: Universal

R.O.M. Knee Brace controls and restricts the degree of flexion of the knee joint through a multi-point fixation system to allow a range of motion or immobilization to the knee. Universal design allows it to be used on most patients and for multiple orthopedic problems. The ROM knee brace is designed to fit both left and right leg.

  • Easy ROM angle adjustment
  • One size fits most
  • Sturdy and durable
  • Controlled motion or Immobilization at any angle

Application

  • Controlling range of motion including immobilization and stabilization of Knee ligamentous injuries, mild to severe soft tissue injuries, and sports-induced injuries.
  • To restrict some knee movements to protect your knee during rehabilitation.
  • The joint can be locked to stop some bending and/or straightening of your knee.
  • The brace also provides some support at the side of your knee
  • Lightweight materials, 3D Cushion Pads, Adjustable for ideal fitting
  • Designed for comfortable use over long hours, relatively easy to wear with minimum assistance

Features

  • O.M. Dial with 0 to 120-degree flexion and 0 to 60-degree hyperextension. It provides locking at any angle or motion between any two angles, with intervals of 15 degrees. It has pleasurable locking, using an easy pull mechanism.
  • Neoprene liner with silicone coating enhances product grip, prevents slippage and migration of products. It provides high cushioning and comfort. Reduces discomfort of tight straps.
  • Ergonomic design, ROM Knee Brace is light in weight, has bilateral symmetry, can be used for either leg. It has a universal design, one size fits all. It is easy to wear and remove.
  • Straps with a reverse buckle mechanism provide controlled tightening, enhanced grip, and is easy to wear.

Construction

  • Range of Motion Knee brace comprises the fabric wrap for the calf and the thigh, made out of a three-layered neoprene bonded fabric.
  • ROM hinges of the knee brace contain ?Multi-Point Fixation Graduated Disc? (MPFGD) in the center connected to lightweight and rigid bars on both sides.
  • The MPFGD can be adjusted to any angle of flexion or hyperextension to ensure fixation of the knee joint at any angle or a controlled motion between any two angles by a simple pull and rotate action of the knob.
  • The angle between two adjacent pins is 10 degrees.
  • Technical Material: Aluminum, Polypropylene, Steel, Neoprene, Polyester, Polyamide.

How to use

  • Ensure that both the hinges are upright as per the arrow mark and the bending is in line with knee bending.
  • Affix the two hinges on the two sides of the knee joint so that the centre of the MPFGD coincides with the axis of the knee.
  • Wrap the Velcro bands around the leg one by one, carefully passing them through the slots in the PP buckle on the hinge.
  • Fasten the Velcro strips with the reverse buckling to a comfortable, secure grip.
  • The angle of the knee or motion adjustment
  • First, set the Flexion angle
  • Pull the knob lightly, rotate and release at the desired angle marked on the graduated disc.
  • Bend the knee and ensure the desired flexion angle of the knee is attained.
  • Then set the Extension angle.
  • Pull the knob on the extension side lightly, rotate and release at the desired angle marked on the graduated disc.
  • Repeat the above process for the other hinge.
  • Movement and Immobilisations:
  • When immobilization at a particular angle required
  • Move both flexion as well as extension knobs to the exact desired angle on the graduated disc
  • When flexion movement is required between any two angles
  • Move the flexion knob to the angle corresponding to a higher degree of angle and the extension knob to the hole corresponding to a lower degree of angle.
  • The pins are affixed at the 0 / lock position when neither flexion immobilisation nor flexion movement is required.
  • When free flexion movement of the leg. Place the flexion knob at 120 degrees and the extension knob at 0 degrees.
